A Really Good Day

How are you feeling about Turd's #2 now? So far, so good, huh?

Having reached our critical resistance points, both metals rest this evening in important positions. Gold has made it to 1525, even reaching as high as 1529 before being beaten back. We really want it to hold on now. Not that it can't give some back but we don't want to see it move below 1515. Look for it to continue to base overnight around the 1525 level. Maybe as soon as tomorrow, it can make a second assault on 1525-30 and burst through once and for all. Above there, it should only encounter minimal resistance as it heads toward 1545.

Silver is much the same. The Cartel would love to contain it under 36.50 and they may very well succeed as I wouldn't be at all surprised to see it dip back down toward 35.80-36.20 overnight. The buying interest seems significant, however (hello again, BoS?), and it looks like the next trip up near 36.50 will be the one to drive it through. You can clearly see on the chart that very little resistance is indicated between 36.50 and 39.50, other than a little at 38. Let's sit back and see where this takes us over the next 24-48 hours. It should be very interesting.

Unfortunately, that's all the time I have. Sorry. Mrs F's 2nd yogurt store is opening later this week and things are a bit crazy. Thanks for your patience.
For now relax, smile and be happy. We survived the most brutal assault The Cartel has ever amassed and now things are rebounding almost exactly as planned. Truth is winning once again! TF

p.s. It's time for another "Hat Contest"! Please use this thread to enter your guess for the date and exact time (New York time) that silver prints $40.00 again. Contest closes when I start a new thread tomorrow morning. Good luck!!!

  4. I have been thinking about the action today and believe this will continue at least for a few days.

With the LME at least acting like they are out on a witch hunt I do not think we will see a heavy hand come down on the PM markets in both London and US. I feel that everyone will want to keep a low profile right now especially JPM. I am convinced that they will keep a low profile in CME as well as LME in order to not attract too much attention with the CFTC.

I guarantee the CFTC is fielding calls right now from many in powerful places asking questions about the LME market rigging allegation. CFTC will be on their toes at least until things blow over at the LME.

As a result I see less downward pressure such as was seen today. If you are not in, now is the time. It is possible we will see a retracement in the future, but I see the next few days repeats of today. Today seemed more like a calm un-manipulated day = what should be typical in the current environment.

I think we will see manipulators sitting on their hands and possibly only applying limited downward pressure.

I anticipate low 40s by the end of the month if this trend continues.

I am adding in small increments here and will keep adding with additional strength. If we see 40s sooner than later I plan on moving 10% from silver into gold. If there are big moves I plan on hedging with a few puts at my "magic" numbers. I have yet to decide on those, and will give it a few days.

  15. We are touching the 10MA on the 120minute chart once again on gold at 1523.60. I just put in a buy order at 1523.90 and didn't fill. I'm not sure if we can hold in thin trading "after hours" but we may. If not watch 1519 that's the 20MA on the 120minute chart.

  23. @Mark
You were asking Economic Analyst about his thoughts on Harvey and SLV. I agree with EA -- from reading what HO has posted about SLV I don't think he understands what an ETF is. You asked if it was true that SLV moved several million ounces on any given day. Well, not every day but lots of them. Of course, it isn't SLV 'moving' the silver, its the authorized participants creating and redeeming baskets of silver for SLV shares depending on which is more valuable. Obviously the silver itself rarely moves, simply the title to it. After all, it is already sitting in a vault -- why move it to a different vault just for the sake of doing it? I don't know but I'm willing to bet that a given set of silver bars has made round-trips onto and off of SLV's books several times. Doesn't matter. When it is on
SLV's books they own it. When it isn't, they don't.

here is the link to a csv list (opens with excel) which details daily changes in their silver holdings:

    http://us.ishares.com/product_info/fund/excel_historicaldetails.htm?ticker=SLV

Kid Dynamite posted about the reason for the delay in Sprott getting silver -- he got the silver in the month he requested it. If he had wanted it in a different month, he could have. With the quantity of silver he wanted he could have gotten it from SLV -- I'm sure an authorized particpant would have redeemed some silver for him (in exchange for a fee, of course). He could have gotten it from the options market standing for delivery.

As I posted once before, the SLV ETF is small potatoes to Blackrock/ishares. Why would they put their necks out and commit a fairly obvious fraud that could ruin them over what to them is small change? It just doesn't make sense to me. Not saying it couldn't happen, but why?

For what it's worth, I hope I have never antagonised anyone here. If I have, it wasn't my intention.

Lampooning - yes, guilty. I will try to do less of that.

Criticism - in its original sense, I do lots of that. It should be welcome on a blog that looks to uncover the truth and help others. My (constructive) criticism will continue. But please don't bracket me with wanker Hamster or stoned Vamoose. That is not my style of criticism.

For the record, I have never tried to 'take' anything. Copy/paste anything I have said that might make you think otherwise, and I promise never to post here again.

It would be very helpful in focusing on the important aspects of your posts without getting sidetracked trying to figure out the lingo. A few examples:

Stevy: an FUBM follows an FUTF. You can take it from there.

Trinity: I'm not going to play this game with you and kiss your behind. Vamoose has at least proven to have made some good points that day so he/she is forgiven. Here is what YOU wrote:

    Trinity B said...
I can't stop laughing at this site. My team said I should take a look, and I'm so, so, so glad I did. Mind you, I don't know which I prefer - this, or the Charlie-Sheen-esque SilverGoldSilver pre-pubescent mouth droolings.

A good skim through has given me some nice cuttings for my "Blythe Internet Hate Campaign Scrap Book". So here are a couple of tips for you lovely, smashing boys and girls in return:

    1. We make money. Lots of it. The price direction is not relevant. If silver goes to $30 when your little bubble pops, we make a shit load. If it goes to $50, we also make a shit load. I really couldn't give a rat's arse, provided that the volatility is there so that we make money.

    2. The USD is not going to die or hyper-inflate. It cannot and will not. Even the Chinese know this to be true. So easy on the tinned goods and water filters, guys! You remind me of all the sad, little militia men you saw on the news in Idaho or god knows where back in the 90s. Perhaps they're still there...

    3. We don't control silver or gold prices. I wish I could (I'd have _bought_ Venezuela by now, if we could, you silly wankers. Love the videos, though - they're good for a giggle). Every time a hedge fund drops its load for a few days and sets off some stops you think it's because we've clicked our fingers? Strange how you don't notice the near-vertical prices and stop-setting on the way up and blame us for that too...

    4. I like a laugh - I really do. But come on! What's with all the misogynist schoolboy crap? Look at what you write! - Are you proud of that? Would you like someone to say those things to your daughter or wife or mother? Criticise me professionally - fine (even though you're way off target). But leave off with all the women-hating, repressed sexual violence stuff. It's really, really sad, you sad, pathetic little boys.

Buy your silver. We don't give a shit. It won't bring down the dollar. It won't bring down JPM. And it certainly won't bring down me. I hope it makes you rich and happy. Like me ;-) See - we're the same, really..!

    Big kiss,

    Trinity Blue

Aside from the bad language she used and the ego bruising was she really too far out of bounds? I've traded enough high flying stocks to know that when stocks prices rise rapidly stops get tucked under every little dip and eventually they get tripped. No conspiracy just market fact of life.

  101. As much as I would love to see silver at 40 again, I don't think it will happening soon. So lets guess Sep. 6 at 12:00. The way I see it I win either way!

  102. Guys, I am convinced silver will rally to low 40's in the next few weeks. Can anyone pls answer this question for me?

If I buy a June $40 call and lets say June comes around and silver is at $38 which means I lost by $2.

How does it work then? How much money will I lose on the one contract?

    Thanks in advance,

    Jan Roos

    That would explain it!

I've been searching for news but have not seen that.

Greek election opens up all kinds of possibilities/uncertainties, like maybe a gov't that backs off austerity and says FU to the IMF and ECB.

    Just one possibility of many.

Market was fragile anyway, it won't take much to push it over the edge.

I was reading 1313 was an important point for the S&P, looks like that's been blown by.

DXD sounds good Shill, but I usually use SDS, either outright or I sell puts on it, very easy money recently. Too bad I covered all mine recently :(

Oh well, I still have half my long USD position.

Wonder what PM's will do? Fun times.

Thanks for the great info Turd. Its fun trading silver with the support of this blog. I know when others know more than me, so I follow when there's a great leader.

On another note: when I was in 7th grade, there was always that person that never belonged in the group but always tryed really hard to fit in or get attention. Even bad attention. Maybe we could give get this/these doucebags a virtual hug.

  130. @ Joe Jost

I cant speak for Turd, but I don't care what you think. Fact is that we have been discussing todays action for the past 4 or 5 trading days. Fact is, even I said yesterday afternoon that the stochastics has turned and I was back in silver and gold for today. So Trinity didn't steal anybodys show. Trinity read a chart and took a stab and got lucky with some cryptic jive.

Why do you feel the necessity to antagonize the host? Is it not possible for you to add a disenting opinion with the cheap shots? Do you behave like that over on zero hedge?

I do enjoy others who observe and draw their own conclusions, too. That is what I most enjoy about this site. Everyone who ADDS to the discussion is appreciated. Those who simply criticize or do not add are a drain, and are to be ignored. Simply that.

Meanwhile, Ag on the way up again. Au on the way up again. POSX moving up through 75.95. Nasdaq and Dow are down sharply. No resolution of the Greek soon-to-be-default. I feel like something big is going to happen, and I cannot break away from the computer screens!

  154. This is a copy of the response I received from Tennessee Congressman Jim Cooper regarding the silver manipulation of the COMEX.
Take it for what it is worth--practically nothing.

    Dear Mr. xxxx:

Thank you for your inquiry about COMEX and the silver market. I appreciate the opportunity to respond.

According to the U.S. Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), as of May 13, 2011, there were 101.1 million ounces of silver in approved COMEX warehouses. The CFTC states that this is the equivalent of 20,220 COMEX futures contracts. There is ample supply of warehouse stocks available to make delivery of two contracts. The deliverer would only need to own 10,000 ounces of warehouse stocks to make the required delivery and not need to deposit any silver in advance. I hope this answers your question.

Thanks for taking the time to reach out to me. Please feel free to contact me again with any other thoughts or concerns.

    Sincerely,

    Jim Cooper
    Member of Congress
